Default HTC - The Future

Looks like HTC phones are becoming very popular.

May be some Apple users are finally seeing the light!

I think the slogan when I turn my Desire HD on says it all
"Quietly brilliant"
HTC don't have the same marketing that Apple have which keeps the fan boys coming back for more however I think more people are trying HTC and Android in general and realising there are better products outhere

I really like HTC phones. The quality is nowhere near Apple or Nokia but you get what you pay for I guess.

They've enabled the Apple haters to 'get it' and that can only be a good thing.

Quality nowhere near ?

I have both here now and there doesn't seem to be a disparity in quality, the Desire HD is very solid, Aluminium chassis and no rough edges or cheap build evident, Iphone also very nice, Samsung Galaxy S dual core also very nice.

I am not going to "choose sides", I just think its nice Apple have some competition as them being all conquering gets a bit predictable, like Man U winning everything, the competition means they will try harder, all produce better and better products so good for consumers and that is my motivation, not championing any one brand, they dont need my help !

What is the basis for your comment Jack?
HTC phones are fantastic qualityI have never heard of anyone raise quality issues with HTC and notibly no having to give away free cases due to issues with how the phone is held!
I'm sure you are really loking forward to the next Iphone so you might have an argument over the tech specifications again as apple are clearly lagging now.

The next iPhone in September needs to be something special as Samung Galaxy 2 and some of the HTC Phones (although I don't like them for some reason!) are better than the iPhone 4.

I've been an iPhone owner for 4 years now, my missus for about 2 and she just ditched her original iPhone 2G for a HTC Desire S and im blown away by it!

No way i'll be buying another iPhone unless it can somehow up its game a massive amount with the new model.

The android OS has come on by a massive MASSIVE amount since i used one when they first came out. I'd own one in a breath before an iPhone now.

It seems they are going to start kicking Ipads out at a rate of knots thugh, they are about to announce an Ipad 3 and the I pad 2 is less than 6 months old is it not?

iPad 3, really. Are you quoting a reliable source? I heard a rumour that a 'pro' version may appear this year with a retina display, but it's just a rumour.

As for HTC quality you only need to read this forum. And as for the 'better' quotes, those ar laughable, basing your judgement on a slightly faster processor is silly.

I have an iPhone 4 now and I'm looking to upgrade to an HTC.

Just seems like the logical way to go.

In your opinion. There are pros and cons to both systems, and really it comes down to personnel preference, even more so now iOS5 has some more of Androids features built in.

And as for Apple's quality, yes they're generally good, but not perfect. There are lots of people complaining about light bleeding on their devices.

I think HTC are making some excellent phones, they bring out different models to suit different budgets, something Android's fragmented nature is good for. It allows for versatility on what hardware it can run on. HTC's quality is not perfect either, but it's still good. The Desire HD for example, the battery cover is a bit crap, but it does the job.

I could post the original iPhone's feature list, hardware and software. But what's the point.

A decent notifications bar and OTA updates are a couple of features new to iOS that are already present in Android. Also the new Twitter integration, I have had Facebook and Twitter integrated into my HTC phone for years. And then there's the iCloud, all my contacts, e-mails, calender etc... are synced with Google's cloud services and have been since I first had an Android phone years ago. iCloud will have more features no doubt. I'm sure Google has borrowed plenty of ideas as well, and it's only a good thing. It progresses both platforms and gives the end user more choice. You prefer Apple's iOS and have chosen that. I prefer Android and am happy to stick with it. End of the day, we're both happy with our decisions so everyone's a winner.

Desire S has slightly bigger screen, more internal memory and is lighter. The main difference is that the Desire S runs Android and the 7 Pro, Windows phone 7.

I've not used Windows phone 7 so can't comment on how good it is to use. I have used a Desire S though and it's a great phone in my opinion. If it was out when I bought my Desire HD I would have got the S.
