Budget tablet pc ??
Guys any recommendations for a cheap budget 10" tablet pc ?? looking on ebay and plenty for sale around the £100+ level from HK/ china etc all claiming to have all the latest features etc, but always a bit wary buying this type off gadgthing from there due to the obvious possible returns etc. just looking for something to browse the net around the home via wifi, operate a few android apps etc .
anything bargain wise on the go just now ?? anything to avoid/ look out for ?? anyone selling one ??

Depends on what budget you have, an Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF101 can be had for around £360-£380. Acer Iconia Tab A500 is about £350
Try to stay away from any that do not have a home button as you can't install google services on such a device, so no market app. The lack of the correct hardware buttons will also make it annoying to use.
Try to go for a capacitive screen rather than a resistive one.
The battery life on the cheap ones seems poor so that's something to consider, may not be a problem if just using in the home though.

Im typing this on an Asus Eee PC I bought in Staples for £189, which is a really good bit of kit.
I found Tesco's have a good selection of Netbooks too all running Windows 7 most under £200 i'm not entirely sure the operating system makes a huge difference on Netbooks in any case as they are stripped back for netbooks, mine runs XP which works very well for me, prefer it to my old laptop running Vista anyway

Take Saint's advice, avoid tablets without the correct buttons, you can't install the app store on the Vega without hacking it and that quickly becomes a hobby.

Advent Vega is good but would recommend putting on the MoDaCo ROM (just Google it) - it strips away some of the crap and has updated hardware drivers and so increases the general performance of it. It also puts flash and the appmarket place on there for you too.
I had it for a week and it's a good bit of kit - however the 'clean' approach of the iPad swung it for me so I went with Apple.
I think if I had to get one now - it'd be the Motorola Xoom or the Asus Transformer (this is probably the best so far)

Okay cheers guys as I say have almost 100% decided on the Advent vega, have read up on the pros and cons and although yes as supplied its very limited with the change off ROM its looks as if it could offer everything I require for a price that I would comfortably pay for a tablet pc.
tracking a brand new one down seems to be the main problem, pcworld etc were knocking them out at £199 a while back but as far as I can see no lonegr have any stock, most available s/h seems to be priced not far short off the figure anyway !!
