Default Extending a wireless network - can I...

extend my wireless network with a Netgear DG384GT?

The main router is an ADSL Belkin wireless N router - I know both routers can support WDS, but the Netgear router is `wireless G, will the Belkin router be able to supply wireless N for the main network at the same time as supplying a wireless G network for the Netgear to pick up and supply wireless G to other parts of the house?

Ultimately what I'm after is to use the Netgear as an ethernet adaptor for my Sony TV, but if it can double up as a wireless extender for my network at the same time then all the better.

I could just buy an ethernet adaptor, but the same issue with the Belkin supplying wireless N and G at the same time applies.

Any advice welcome

I don't think they will connect to each other via wireless. Only by ethernet cable.

Is that because the Belkin can't supply N ang G at the same time?
They both support WDS, so they should be able to connect wirelessly.

I'm not sure if the software will recognise each other because of the different manufacturers. But it's worth a try at least.

Yes you can link them

I currently have a Thompson TG585Vx linked wirlessley to a Belkin wireless router

http://beusergroup.co.uk/technotes/index.php?title=WDS

Gives the method,

the Belkin does not have WDS, but you can set it to link to a defined MAC

basically the netgear needs to act as a wireless bridge, if it can do that then it will be possible
