Ah, Lad has a steam account (bandwith hogging damn thing)...... I'll suggest he takes a look. In fact he's probably on Steam playing Team Fortress II as I type LOL

I played for 2 hours, which is a bit of a record for me lately with games. Good game so far and Steam seems a lot better now I've given them some money. (Portal was free)

Retail boxes are almost gone IMHO a fair amount of PC games now dont even release at retail and are download only.
Not sure about Steam saving mac gaming, more like kicking it off to begin with
I like having the boxes and packaging with a retail box, but on the other hand, it is a fecking ball ache when you have them stored all over the shop, i really rate just logging into Steam and having the vast majority of my games instantly available to me, no need to hunt for discs and DRM keys.
I have a feeling that this year is going to be the "Year of PC gaming" as the consoles are a bit ****ty now.

I find myself agreeing, a year or so ago I'd written off PC gaming altogether, but you're right, consoles are looking shabby and Steam seems to make gaming easy on the Mac and PC. Apple have saved Gaming! Who knew!!

Helllo friends
I recall seeing somewhere that portal 2 is a cross platform online game, so you could theoretically be playing Jack at some time.... (wheres that Glados hack )
This was also mentioned in the PS3 network outage, as lots of people had bought portal2 ready to go online, and with the network being down, has caused quite a few headaches.
I personally think the game (Portal) is great, My youngest and i play it all the time
I have to be honest and wonder if the co-op thing is right, but only time will tell
With a retail price of £40 notes, i'm going to hold off for a few months, and pick it up later
