one for the apple know it alls!!!
Hope im in the right section, can anyone help, iv just about come to the end of my tether with it!!
Right i have an Iphone 3g, its not jailbroken or anything. its stuck on the boot screen. Ie the apple logo with the loading wheel. it all started a few months back when it stopped charging so i traced it to the docking connector. I replaced that all was ok for a while, then it stopped charging again. i opened it up and the dock connector plug had come off. Now its stuck on the boot screen! it turns on and off, connects to itunes, but wont go past the boot screen. iv been searching on google for answers but not found anything that works. iv tried a itunes restore, done a DFU restore.
Does anyone have any other ideas i could try or im gonna bin the bloody thing!!!
Thanks in advance

Yea m8 it's xp only software, can't you get a m8 with xp and try it. I'm sure it will sort it.
If it's restoring ok and charging then I doubt it's the ribbon.
Best way would be restore it make sure it's all up and running then power off the phone unplug the charger ribbon and then power it back on. This will prove if it's the ribbon.
If it's still the same then it's either irecovery or water damage which I can fix too
Hope that helps

no error code flags up! is there any way of reading them?
sorry my previous post isnt clear mate. if i connect the phone to tinyumbrella it picks it up as normal as does itunes. if i put it into DFU mode as it says on the TU website, it then gives the option to 'exit recovery' which it does. but the phone is still on the apple screen with the spinning wheel.
hope that is better described
