A bit sceptical about the wireless charging, but it looks like a game changer to me.

 

This one could be competition for the current iPad. I like some of the rumoured features and WebOS is very good. Just a shame they'll be competing with the Playbook and that's not too shabby either. I'd suggest now as a good time to start thinking about selling your iPad. The new one's almost here and will once again have no competition.

 

If the HP one comes to light and is indeed sporting all those features then it should be a serious contender for both playbook and iPad 2.

 

The following features will be very interesting:
- Touch Stone Dockingstation (works excellent with my Palm Pre 2)
- Beats Audio
- Cloud Storage Streaming
- Web OS 2

The HP Palm Touch Stone (wireless charging device) works excellent with my Palm Pre 2. It's great that you don't need to plug in the connection cable.

 

I still don't see the point of tablets - why don't they produce a slim laptop that does all this, including fast turn-on?

 

The MacBook air is more or less that, it is just SO expensive.

 

I agree, way too expensive, I could make one of those myself and it would cost half the price, the bits would have bigger numbers too. Apple's just about Marketing to Sheep.

The small one is a cracker though.

 

That tablet looks a cracker, but again, i still don't really see the point of them if.

 

If you use one for a period of time with a good OS, the only one being iOS, you will see the point. Saying that I don't have one.

 

Tablet PC's have been around for a very long time. The difference between these newer type tablets compared to traditional ones (notebooks with touch sceens) is, that they are focussed on end users that want to consume content information and not mainly create content. The new tablets are the perfect device for your living- or bedroom. They do not replace classic Notebooks or PC's. They will be used in addition to them. I would use such a tablet for the following reason:
- Fast internet access
- Check TV Program
- Read your newspapers, magazines, books or journals, etc.
- Have a quick game
- Lock at pictures
- Check your social networks
- Check websites that you saw on tv
- Listening to music
- etc.
These are examples for what these new Tablet devices can be used and I strongly believe that there are a lot of people that would use these gadgets for the same reason.
