Excellent feature. Bit of a shame it'll cost you a fortune to use abroad, but all the same an awesome feature and free.

I'm impressed with the fact it's free. Other than that it's old news. Perhaps the paid iPhone app with have to come down in price.

Google missed a trick there. They should have concentrated on doing English to English for most of their thick *******.

Android being an open OS is a real game changer....

Android-based handsets that subsidise themselves by stealing from the customer's account

Android just keeps on doing it, awards, new innovations and a growing market. The brucie bonus as well with Android phones is they work straight out of the box, none of this stupid armband nonsense that makes your phone look even tattier than it was previously.

All raise a glass to android

the old "apple control me life" statement , if android was so free for all why is there a need/demand for rooting?

As antc says, its the old "control-freak" argument.
Here is a quote from a knowledgeable writer on the subject.

Some people think that “Apple’s control-freak nature” is a weakness. Control-freak does carry a negative connotation in our culture. Swap in the word perfectionist and it changes the connotation. Where is the evidence that Apple’s control-freak/perfectionist nature has hurt Apple in the market — for phones, for iPods, or for computers? “We’re going to make these decisions for you and offer a limited number of choices” is indeed the company’s philosophy. That’s called design. Apple is indeed more focused on design than its competitors. It’s also been far more successful than its competitors over the past decade, in several lucrative markets.
