Been out since July I think. I have one, it is quieter than the old one, and lees susceptible to the overheating issues and RROD. Im sure there is a new problem there somewhere. Nicer looking too, and most importantly wireless boilt in so no more £50 odd for a wireless adaptor.

Yep have a new XBOX 250GB slim version since September. And there are problems with the new one. I have had mine lock a couple of times on occassion as well as kicking me off XBOX live in a middle of a game of co-op with a mate
Also they are prone to the now known red dot of death if you stand them up on the end. Therefore a mate of mine will not purchase a new one as this is the only option he has for having one. Do a search on google for Xbox 360 slim and red dot of death and there are plenty of videos on this.
On the up side the bigger HDD, built in Wi-Fi, Optical out and quiet fan makes it a better machine. And no I am not a PS3 or Wii fanboy as I own all 3 . And have 2 of the older models of xbox 360 die on me with the red Ring of Death.

as above, been out a while now

traded my 120GB Elite in for a 250GB Slim a couple of months ago and love it

they are much quiter, not just in terms of the cooling fans, but also the DVD drive, smaller, nicer looking unit, built in wireless N, etc

definately an improvement and glad I got mine

mine has been spot on, as was my Elite before that and my original 20GB Premium lasted 2 years before I got RROD

sounds like people are putting them in enclosed spaces with poor ventilation

mine is sat on a shelf on a glass TV stand with plenty of breathing space, which probably explains my lack of issues with 3 consoles

I still got the old 360 elite and not had any problems with it,partly why i haven't bought the new one.The fan noise on the old one doesn't really bother me either, can't here it much when watching a movie or playing games having it connected to my hi-fi speakers ...I will get the new but am in no hurry..

there is a 250GB model and a 4GB model (useless) at the moment

not sure if they can be chipped yet, but you can never play online, so pointless doing it as that's half the fun

Why is the 4gb useless, if only used for gaming~?

I used to play online with my old Elite which was chipped..just depends on the games you download and how new they are.

The 4GB ones have a 4GB internal memory which is not expandable, and I do believe can also hinder you from playing games like Halo Reach. You can actually buy a 4GB model and be able to insert a HDD inside the machine (They are now inside the Machine under a trap door on the side of the unit), to do this you can just buy a 2.5" SATA HDD and then a search on the internet format this drive and use in your 360. The only problem with the HDD on the 250GB version is that it comes in a Black box which is design to be slotted into the machine. Oh you can also use the 250GB HDD form the new machine onto an old system as long as you get the cable that connects the SATA drive to the HDD port on the 360 Normally taking apart your old 20GB drive will get you this cable

Useless if you want to download anything like Games, Video's, DLC etc

I quite often install my most played games to HD too which you wouldn't be able to do.

Don't think they can just yet.

This is a good site for info http://www.xbox360-hacks.com/

I think it's going to get interesting when Black Ops comes out, got the feeling we'll see how good these new 'stealth' firmwares really are.

After getting banned, I just have the chipped one downstairs to play 'backups' and my unmodded new one upstairs for XBL.
