I have an old Acer laptop running XP. I appear to have got some corrupt files somehow. I tried to run Spybot but it won't start. Tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it but it still won't load up.

I can't get windows to configure my wireless connection like it used to

Also my start bar abd windows are no longer in XP view, they appear to be in windows 2000 mode but no options anywhere to cahnge it back. (I've tried right clicking the start menu etc.....

HELP

 

if memory serves (i've been running windows 7 64bit for a while now) the task bar etc options for XP are in graphics properties if you right click on the desktop... and under the appearance (?) tab...

personally, if it was worth saving the laptop, sounds like it would benefit from a fresh clean install of the OS
