Just as you were just about to go to the pub

Standard install of Win98 SE2

In a program when all of a sudden, the keyboard becomes locked. Nothing you can do can release it. Pressed all the keys & it happens on various PCs. Unlikely to be a faulty k/board & it's firmly attached.

However, mouse still works and you are able to use that to log off, reboot & then everything is fine again Until the next time

Obviously very annoying, but is this as a result or symptom of any known thing? I have a couple of ideas but no real basis for them. Wondering if Scoobynet Technical Support ( ) had ever come accross anything like this?

Question

Are the 'puters all running the same program when this happens?

Does it happen after a clean boot and no apps launched?

Had a similar problem once

Reset the BIOS to default settings and it was perfect from then on

yep had a similar thing, made sure it all fixes were applied, and also reset the bios.

ps. does the num lock/caps lock/scroll lock still go on and off when you press it?

Have seen similar on one of our laptops, reset bios and worked fine.
