This will be interesting as it switches on multitasking on the 3G phone (switched off by Apple).

The new firmware update from apple will have multitask enabled as with the ability to create folders and subfolders for your apps so I would wait on jailbreaking your phone for the moment. Alot of the software functions comming with the new iPhone 4 will be available to the 3gs through this firmware update :-)

Don't expect miracles. I tried scrolling around a 3G the other day and was a bit shocked by the speed. With multitasking enabled you'll spoil the experience.

That's why I thought it was disabled/not possible as the cpu wouldn't be upto the job. Will still give me something to play about with whilst I wait for the over demand to die for the iphone4. I want to go into a shop and just buy one, not queue for hours or have to hunt one down in a store miles away. Will be a couple of months probably until that is possible.

It's exactly the reason why, and in the next couple of weeks it'll only get worse as more applications are updated for iOS4. If you're going to give it a go I'd do it sooner rather than later.

I belive the reason the 3g does not do Milo task us because it only has 128 mb of ram whereas the 3gs and ipad have 256 and the iPhone 4 will have 512
as with most things the less ram the less you can do. I presee apple tested multitasking on the 3g and found that peformance wa not acceptable and decicded to disable support in software. Obviously the jb enables it and no doubt people will moan when the performance sucks and blame apple, when in fa t the had disabled it for a reason
