How to merge a number of MP3s together but still maintain "tracks"
Hi
I downloaded a complete dance mix sometime ago. It is in 13 parts and I would like to do the following:-
1. Merge all into one seamless track. Each part is around 10mins, and each one overlaps by about a minute, so I need to cut the ends of each track and make them fit (if that makes sense).
2. Once I have one complete file I would then like to insert a number of cuts so if I burn onto CD/DVD I'll be able to select any part of the mix without having to play from the start everytime I play it - like you can with a conventional dance mix CD.
Any ideas of good uncomplicated software to use? I did have Cool Edit Pro on an old PC but I lost that when the hard disk failed.

You can do all of that and loads more using;
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
Then when you want to burn to disk, choose from one of the following;
http://www.filehippo.com/download_cdburnerxp/
or
http://www.filehippo.com/download_deepburner/
All Freeware and more powerful than most middle grade commercial software.

Not sure if this would work when burning, but it does for iPod:
cut the files, but don't join them, use iTunes and set up be album option so it is a gapless album. You will still have the cuts but the audio side of things should be seamless
