Default Buying a new graphics card, but which one?

Well after my COD:MW2 woes, looks like i'll need a new GFX card to play newer PC games.

I've got a Dell Dimension 5150, with P4 3.2GHz (which i now realise is near minimum spec!).

What would be a good card to get? I've been recommended the 5750 for about £125. Didn't really wanna spend more than that. Here's the one at Overclockers: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...odid=GX-125-PC

Will it work with my system and is there any others you "in-the-know" could recommend. Thanks.

Yes it will fit, your board has a PCIe x16 slot dedicated for graphics.

Just a thought, the card you linked to, 5770, is massively over kill for your system, that card uses PCIe 2.0, your motherboard is a PCIe 1.0 interface, so 250 MB/s compared with the newer 500MB/s.

You want to be looking in the £40 - £50 range really, else you are just throwing money away imo

Do you have any suggestions/links of suitable ones? Something that will play the newer games and doesn't need a new PSU like the one above apparently will.

Pick up a second hand 4870 / 4850

But TBH your PC will struggle.

Might be time for a new one. . . .

Something like a 4350, £36.

This is still more than your board can handle though and the newest games may appear a little choppy and slow.
