only 1 TV point in the whole house :(
Just had the electrician round to see how easy it would be to add a few more TV points as the new house only has 1 (in the living room)........ seems quite a bit of work and some mess
Is there a gizmo I can plug into the single TV socket and pick up the TV signal (freeview) from other rooms around the house. ??
Cheers

I have 4 way arial splitter in the loft and just run a coax to the bedroom, kitchen etc. Although it does require all the other tvs to be freeview ready.
I guess the internal walls are solid brick as stud walls would be easy to install extra tv points without any mess.
Those wireless tv senders are okay as long as everyone does not mind watching the same channel as the tv the transmitter is plugged into.

Can't you go up the outside of the house and into another room?
Everytime we decorate a room, I chase out the wall and run Co-ax and Cat5. I reckon the house will soon be supported by Cat5

Thanks for the replies
It's a brand new house (with stud walls and the rest of the shoddy workmanship) but the electrician said It would need major work to dismatle half of the interior of the house to get the Co-ax cabling to the other rooms !!
Surely all he has to do is drop the cable alongside the existing runs for the power sockets ?
Am I being taken to the cleaners ??

Shocking that there is only 1 outlet on a new house!
I added/repositioned a couple of outlets on our newish house last year and wasn't a major DIY job.
Did have to drop the sat cable down the outside of the house as there was some obstacle between floors to use the stud walls.
The sewer vent pipe voids going through the attic make ideal ducts to quickly drop cables down to ground floor.

why cant you disconnect the coax at the aerial itself and reroute to ur loft, then replace the coax back to the aerial, you can then drop a distribution box in the loft, u can travel down a airing cupboard and go under the floor if you dont want to go round the outside of the house.

Sounds to me he didn't want the job, fit a distribution amplifier in the loft and try run the cables yourself it shouldn't be hard.
if you're having sky leave the aerial going down to the living room and run a cable from your rf2 out on the sky box then the additional points will get sky playback.

All he would have to do is fish the coax through, sounds like he was going to sledgehammer your walls down. If you have an internal aerial in the loft it is a simple job to do, if it is on the chimney a decent satellite/aerial installer would be cheaper than a sparkie.

I've been trying to run some cables for a while and even asked for advice on here (have a search..) and putting cables from the roof down the inside of a stud wall is not easy. There are all kind of things in the way.
In the end I ran a cable down the outside walls...

I have some sort of blockage in my cavity walls that stops you dropping a cable from the loft to downstairs. Took me a long time to spot the waste pipe would be the solution (doh) That gives me access to the dinning room and lounge while I ran other cables down in to the airing cupboard and from there to the attached garage to get cables to the kitchen. Each room has 4 CAT5 outlets now
Don't they block the cavity walls with extra insulation in new builds now? Mine is 15 years old now.
