Will you be reinstalling XP ?

a) Easy Way - set the BIOS to boot your WinXP CD and it'll partition and format your hard disk as part of the setup of XP

b) If you don't intend to put XP on, as Richie says, just boot a win98 bootdisk which will have FDISK to partition and FORMAT to format.

Get a boot disk from here... If you do not have a bootdisk.
http://www.bootdisk.com/original.htm

Place this tool on it

http://ftp.inspan.net/pub/mirrors/simtelnet/msdos/diskutil/edpart.zip

Edpart will blow away any partition without asking you a single question. It assumes you know what you are doing.

Be Carefull

PS: Virus check this stuff before use.
