Default BT Homehub problem

I recently received one of the new homehub and installed it without many issues. I have however started to find a few problems that I need some help with.
Firstly the wireless isn't anywhere near as good as my 3yr old router, considering all that's connected to it wirelessy is iPods an iPhones. When before my xbox was wireless as well. I have now connected the wireless by cable.
Secondly 4 pc's were connected via an ethernet switch an then into the old router, now due to the hub having extra connections I have moved the switch next to a homeplug an this feeds a pc & the xbox. I noticed today that 2 pcs that are hardwired directly to the hub aren't picking up a network coonection, while the xbox is playing away on live no bother.

Any ideas ??

Thanks

What wireless channel did you change it to? Stick to 1, 6 and 11 and try not use the same as your neighbor

Its on 11 at the moment. I'll change it to either of the above. Nearest neighbour is about a mile away so hopefully that isnt affecting me
