How do I save my Mpg files onto Cd to be viewed with a Dvd/vcd player?

get a copy of nero 5 from the usual places
converts mpg's to vcd's, do a search for direct connect first. there are other programs out there as well

I agree nero is the dogs doodars with vcd's
You can make your own menus etc....

I just burnt some mpegs using Nero and they have converted to .dat files?
Any idea whats happend?

depends what version mpeg, sounds like mpeg4, .dat & .asf are better quality than mpeg2 etc.
however I am no expert in this area

The
DVD Rip Guides web site is very good. I have ripped DVDs to 3 CDs at very high quality from this sites info.

maybe a prog called vcdcutter might help, but thats .dat files to mpg so prob not

I think the VCD format is pretty strict and for it to be played properly, the video is renamed to a dat file.

VCD is not very strict. Its the player thet governs the resolution and bitrates. I've sucessfully played a full DVD quality VCD with a 2500 bitrate on my Sony player
