Default HD says full but using 123GB out of 250

My Harddrive says its full. Im running 2x 250 GBS.

Ive 300mbs left on C:

Ive ran TreeSize and it says ive 123Gbs of files.
My system Restore is set to 8%.

Both HD are healthy and active.

So the question is wheres my 125GBs??

Ive tried unhiding files. And running TreeSize.

You haven't split one of the disks in to several partitions? If you right click on the C drive and go to properties, does it say it's 250Gb partition with only 300Mb left?

Have you got lots of very small files on there, or just a few large files, or what? I'm also assuming it's an NTFS formatted volume/partition? Is it stupidly fragmented?

It is quite possible to only store half the rated capacity of a disk on it (ie 125GB of files on a 250GB disk): If, for example, you stored a whole stack of 2K text files on a standard NTFS formatted 250GB hard drive (with 4K clusters), that you'd get around 125GB of files on a 250GB disk (as you'd waste 2K in each cluster). If they were 1K text files you'd only get about 60GB, as you'd waste three-quarters of your drive (3K per cluster).

Try checking the size of the System Volume Information folder...you may need to 'Show Hidden and System Files' option first
