Just got my pc back today after having a trojan cleaned off it.
I am no IT expert but I was told that this was a really sophisticated bit of evil that was reporting personal details overseas.
The specialist that cleaned it for me said the only thing that found it was an anti virus programme from Malwarebytes.
If you are unlucky enough to have the same trojan I can almost guarantee from what I have been told that you won't find it with the normal AV software that most of us seem to use such as Mcafee, AVG, Alwil etc.
This little beastie infected my machine with a host of files with such names as Backdoor.bot, Trojan.Fakealert, Hijack.Userinit.
These names may sound like a bit of a joke, but it's really not funny at all when you realise that somebody is watching everything you do on your pc.
Best of luck getting it sorted mate.

Malwarebytes usually finds things like that and it's free, you should always run something like that along with your antivirus checker like AVG.

A little simple house keeping will generally keep you safe.

Blue, just out of curiosity how much did the chap charge you to 'clean' you computer?

Like I said I'm no IT expert, that's why I pay somebody to sort out problems I can't fix. I use good AV and spyware programmes to do the 'simple' housekeeping, I hadn't heard of MW.
As for the price, I haven't had the invoice yet, but he's a trusted operator and whatever it is it will be worth it.
