getting streamed wmv's to play full screen on a mac
Eurosport have a web stream that parallels their tv channel.
However they dont support mac, even after multiple people asked them to. They say use flip4mac, which I discovered last year by accident.
Downside is I cant get the stream to play full screen, is there any prog that will replace flip4 so I can do this?
Obviously under win it works fine but I dont have a win box, unless I bring the works lappy home (fat chance if I aint on call )
Oh and for the nosey, I watch the winter sports online as I cant have sky and virgin isnt in the area.
Oh and this is 1 reason!!, theres about another 6 to

If you know the full source path of the stream you could always try a program called VLC (it's a free download but isn't always 100% stable as it's permanently in alpha revision).
I have played back wmv streams on a mac using that though so I can say it "should" work
can't remember the addy for the download off the top of my head but a google search will find it and there's info on the site on how to set it up on a mac - it's straight forward enough though

not gonna be possible to use an external player without the full address
did a quick google search on it and two things of interest ...
1) the vlc plug-in for safari apparently will work
2) I found the link below - haven't got a mac I can test it on though at the mo so I'll have to let you try it out yourself i'm afraid lol!
Download EuroSport 0.1 - Free Dashboard widget that will allow you to watch Eurosport - Softpedia

Not sure if this would help you, but have you purchased the pro version of quicktime? This allows fill screen mode (apple cmd + f). other than that I am out of ideas as to what has been said already.

if it's subscription then it'll require a login which is likely to be primarily based around generating a session authentication key that your machine holds locally for the duration of time you want to watch the video stream for. Without that key you'll just get bounced from the server. I think VLC can be configured to provide usernames and passwords for streams - it can on my linux box here but I run an older version of it for a few reasons so I don't know if the option is still available in the latest version or if it's even available at all in the mac release i'm afraid
few other options for you -
if you can't have sky due to being in a rented flat for example, check out the portable dishes designed for caravans etc - plenty of them on fleabay usually
dunno if eurosport is available on it but "it's good to talk" were offering tv packages via broadband lines
find a neighbour with it and "borrow" a feed from their dish / virgin line (probably best to get their permission lol!) and use an independant decoder again from fleabay

No cable in the area, and your spot on about Sky.
Not fussed about free, would like it in full screen though
Problem with freestanding dish's is they tend to be fairly big (in cubic space) and the flat isn't that big so would be quite some space taken up.
