Wireless issues
I have got my laptop on my desk sitting above my server and when I turn the server on the wireless gets knocked out on my laptop or at best severely slowed down to the point where it might as well have completely dropped.
The wireless router is configured for channel 6 and both the internal wireless nic on the laptop and the usb wireless nic on the server are manually set to channel 6.
Why would one be causing interference with the other? With one switched off the other works fine.
Edit to add the server having the usb wireless nic enabled in knocking out all other wireless nics in the house even though everything is set to channel 6 and in b/g mode.

Dave, no I haven't as I specifically bought the usb wireless stick for it and don't have any others to use. For the time being i've stuck a wireless gaming adapter in the onboard nic but not ideal due to how old and slow the gaming adapter is (10mbps).
