Considering a fresh looking white lappy but having looked at my current 4 year old black laptop, the keys look a bit rank.

How quickly do white laptops look a bit tatty?

Keys on my iBook are a little grubby as is the trackpad, but then I did get it in 2004 and I've never cleaned it. Apart from that it's very clean and does not look tatty.

 

Depends what you do with it and the quality of the components used to make it. I've got a "black" dell laptop that's around 5 years old at home, and it still looks almost as good as new. Based on that, as long as you buy some decent kit, it should last ok regardless of colour.

 

If you are anything like the people I work with it is the using of the computer whilst eating ... Pizza grease and God knows what on the keyboard...
