Weird screen behaviour
Someone I know, who is not very computer savvy, has asked me about a problem they are having with their laptop screen and I've got no idea what is causing it.
She describes it at looking like a little insect moving up/down and left/right. It looks a bit like a dash (-), but when it changes direction it curves. Her hubby has confirmed that she isn't seeing things.
It is happening even when no applications are open, and will appear over the top of any applications when they are running.
Anyone any ideas what may be causing this?

First thought is some background process, a jokey one, that is displaying a little bug type image. Second thought is that it's actually a real bug in the screen.

We had a case of this a few years ago - i believe that they are Thunderflies.
Tiny little buggers that appear at a certain time of the year, and they managed to get between the TFT and front transparent layer.
They crawl around, and if you don't manage to get them out quickly (try "directing" them with your cursor) then they die, still inside the screen - which is every so slightly VERY irritating!!!

I've been trying hard not to reply to this but I need to know if this was a wind up? Seriously, the three of you couldn't work out that something that looked like a bug inside the screen could actually be... a bug inside the screen?
