Nurburgring Driving Game ?
#1
Does anyone know of a driving game that has The Ring as one of the tracks, either PC or Playstation ?
I was thinking that it would be a good way of getting to know the track a little in case I fancied a trip out there.

I 2nd GPL - *the* best simulation out there....once you've patched it and downloaded all the add-ons Try a search on GPL and take your pick of forums - I like legendscentral.
I used GPL last year to learn the ring before going to driver training there - it's as per 1967, and the scenery is different (there's probably updates for this too!) but it does help.

You can change start line in GPL too with the right utility - I think the thing that keeps this game going is twofold; excellent physics and open-source style of programming

I think using GPL to learn the "RIng" could be fraught with problems, as you plough into a ditch/barrier you would think to yourself

If you goto http://www.motorcycle-dk.com/en/multimedia/ and goto the Nurburgring/Cars section there is a video that shows an incar video (in a GT3 Porsche) alongside a lap from GPL. IIRC it is pretty accurate...

While the GPL track is accurate, the different scenery buggers you in RL...especially on such a long track Also be aware that a bit of the track is missed out in RL. Still helped though - and bloody good fun (RL & GPL)

Driving the track is still more use than watching a video as it's more active, but it's still useful to see real footage. Quite a lot of drivers use computer games to familiarise themselves with circuits now, so you'll be in good company.
If nothing else, the game gives you an insight into why so many people are killed driving Nurburgring each year...
