pc for secondary school
my daughter go's to high school in september,
thinking of getting her a laptop, to be used odwnstairs in our prescence only, or upstairs with wifi unplugged.
around £300 ish with 2gb of ram on it i think would be ok.
what programmes can i put on it to ensure shes safe on the web.

You may also want to filter proxy severs which are the typical get around for stuff they aren't supposed to be looking at. Stay on top of the history etc..
If there is regular removal of history/cookies its a tell tale sign of wrong doing for kids (and adults usually lol).
I would suggest the best way of keeping her safe is not to force her down avenues looking for loop holes in net security but to keep her educated about what goes on behind that firewall keeping her safe
