I-Tunes Question
Hi Guys/Girls
My girlfriend tells me that i tunes has a license limited to running on a total of 4 PC's
I am, for various reasons, now on the 4th format & re install of windows xp on her lapop & she is starting to panic a bit about not being able to use i tunes for her i pod if we ever end up re installing everything again.
Is there a way around this??
Thanks in advance
Phil

I'm sure you can reset it too? Mine was activated on 5 of 5, now it's one of five, but I can't remember how I reset it, I think there's an option to delete all previous activations?

There should be a "De authorize computer" option under one of the menus in iTunes. The idea, as others have said, is when you're going to EOL a machine, de-auth it and it'll free up one of the auths. If you cannot do that then there is an option to de-auth ALL computers. To do this, sign into your iTunes account, there is usually an item in the top right of the iTunes window listing your iTunes account name/email address, so click on that. There should be an option to "View Account". Once you have that page you'll see there is a "Computer Authorizations" section, and it'll tell you how many machines are authed, there is a "Deauthorize All" button, click that and it will remove all entries.
you then simple need to re-authorize all the machines you want to use the purchased music on, which is just a case of logging into the iTunes store account.
Note that this "Deauthorize All" option can only be used a few times, I have a feeling it's something like once every 12 months.
