Question Puzzled

BT have supplied me with a Black Home Hub - Version 2 I think they call it.

This is to replace my White Home Hub - version 1.5 I believe?

I have had the Black Hub quite a while and built up the courage last weekend to swap them over, fully expecting everything to fail and my Internet Connection to be gone for good.

The White Home Hub has a USB connection on the rear USB A and USB B I think .... anyway, the Black Home Hub seems that it can only be connected via an Ethernet connection .... and an Ethernet cable is supplied just for that purpose.

Problem is, my PC has no Ethernet Port .... the instructions talk of a Ethernet to USB Cable - but do not supply one. I've never seen one!

Anyone connected via a USB to a Black BT Hub?

I wouldn't bother - the black hubs are worse than the white ones, and they're awful (black is much shorter range). get a netgear and you'll be soooo pleased.

I have a Netgear hi-range router - big thumbs up for me. BT Home Hub is absolutely shoite. Would allow my PC to connect but after about a month asked my Mac for a password which it then absolutely refused to accept.

A few resets, upgrades, password resets later it went in the bin. Netgear router is fabulous in that I do not even know it is there.

Don't have BT over here, so I can't comment on the Homehub, but I recommend Netgear to anyone that asks, and nobody has threatened me with a good kicking yet.
