Can't connect to the internet through my ethernet port
Hi
I have just had to reinstall the operating sytem (XP) after my computer had a virus.
I have managed to get everything up and running again (after three long evenings ) but I am left with one strange problem.
I can connect my broadband modem to the internet through my USB cable, but not through the ethernet port. This is a problem because I cannot use my wirless router for the remote PC. I know the router is working fine so I guess there is a setting somewhere I can change?
It all worked fine a few days ago
Any ideas?

I have just checked and the ethernet driver is missing. I have searched all my installation disks, but it's not there. The PC came with all the software already on it.
It is a Dell dimension 9200. Can I download a driver off the net? how do I know which one?
Cheers

Alternatively look for the device in the System list and try to download latest driver from internet. It might give you a generic one but it will probably work if it says it can't locate one then you will need a file or disk.
