Internet phones - advice please.
What's the deal with these then. Any good?
Do they view more condensed WAP sites or the real thing?
Is it painfully slow to load?
I quite fancy one if they are any good, but if they aren't then i'll pass.

Yeah, that type handset. I like the look of the Nokia 5800 but the only experience i've had of the 'mobile internet' was 6/7 year ago when it was like a very slow and basic Teletext. Pretty crap really.
How long would it take for a page to load?

Biggest thing for me is whether it's got an html browser or it'll take something like opera mini.
WAP is very efficient but is from the days when bandwidth was narrow and expensive, nowadays I like an almost full browsing experience.

I went into the Vodaphone shop today to try out a few; the guy was really helpful and let me have a play with the white HTC Vodaphone one, the Blackberry Storm and the 5800. I liked the Blackberry but the keypad was hard to use, I kept touching the wrong buttons and it didn't come with a stylus The HTC one didn't work properly but I was impressed with the 5800, the YouTube videos were quick to load and good quality so I ended up going for that. I got the phone free, 100 x-net minutes, 500 sms and unlimited internet for £20 per month. I also got two months free line rental for porting my number!
I decided against the Iphone as the line rental was twice the price and i've heard that a new version might be out in a few months.
Thanks for the advice
