Hiya,
Can anyone suggest a good accounts package which would help in the following?

We're looking to put a storage system on computer. It's the same sort of thing as website hosting i think.

We have customers who pay twice yearly all at the same time. (every 6 months) At the moment we have to write each individual invoice out over and over again. With 300 clients, this becomes very time consuming.

i'm looking to have the customers details stored on computer, then invoice them to renew their account by simply printing the invoice with the relevant details. (either having it print off all the invoices automatically or drag the customers details into the relevant fields instead of writing them out again and again) It needs to take into account VAT, and have a number for reference. Also, If possible, i'm looking to be able to print off envelopes using the customers details also.

Can anyone reccomend a package that may help?
Thankyou in advance, Ian , aka Hos.

Sage is pretty much the standard accounts package, I've not used it in the last couple of years, but it should have no problem doing what you want. Handily accountants use(d) it as well, so rather than printing off huge amounts of paperwork when it came around to the year end / audit you could hand them a cd with all the data on it.

Yup, Sage pretty much has the accounts software market for the SME in their pocket for the UK. 000s of users on the entry level Instant Accounts (£99 IIRC) package.

Other options are TasBooks or Quicken.

Thumbs up

Thankyou for the replies. I've emailed sage and asked which package they recommend between Instant accounting and Line 50.
Appreciate your help. Ian

For what its worth, I used sage for a year before canning it. Great for accountants but its non-english and getting it to do what you want is a mare. I found myself repeatedly reconciling to other records and having to "fix" sage !!

Since then, moved onto Tas Books - used it for about a year, fantastic. Does everything I want, all customers get pretty (!) PDF invoices electronically and I never have a problem.

About to get a payroll system I'll be getting TAS.

Sage ? no way, no thanks.
