Question

I'm a bit of a newbie to DVD's on my PSX2. Watched 'Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels' a while ago and could adjust picture from full screen to widescreen using the set-up menu. I hired 'Pearl Harbor' this week and could only get film to play with HUGE black borders top and bottom. Was I doing anything wrong?? Is this common on new DVD's??
Hope someone can shed some light for me.
Cheers
Simon

Films are made using different aspect ratios, anything from 16:9 upwards. It's quite normal to see black bars, top and bottom, on some DVDs.

I knew you got black borders, but I thought you could adjust picture to more or less fill a non widescreen TV.

Has anyone else seen Pearl Harbor on DVD and noticed the same thing??
