Thought I'd ask in here in as I have computer questions relating to a thread in NSR.

Can an autocomplete get confused and show things that haven't been typed on a pc before?

Any recommended keyloggers?

Not incredibly computer savvy but want to keep an eye on things

 

Saw your NSR thread, I have never seen autocomplete save anything that wasn't typed.

Hardware keyloggers are discreet but useless on a laptop as you'll see them pretty easily. On a desktop, no problem at all.

Software keyloggers are available but I'd be careful with them as what type of people write and distribute keyloggers..?

 

I've never seen anything in autocomplete that hasn't been clicked, typed or replied to either.

May be worth noting that, depending on your anti-virus, it may prevent the installation of a keylogger.

 

Which browser are you using? IE8 does autofill / autosuggest words when filling in forms, even if you have never typed them before (gets them from the search engines etc).

 

Machine is a Deskop PC - Any Keylogger recommendations?

Have IE (not sure what version - On Vista) but mainly use FF.

Was in FF when given the list (which only contained email addresses)

If you look in FF privacy settings, if the p/w has been remembered, you'll be able to see it.

Scratch that, if the pw was remembered, it would have filled it.
