Default Very bizarre PC problem

My works Laptop (a Dell Vostro 1510) had to be rebuilt due to getting inundated with spyware etc LOL

Anyway before I rebuilt it I noticed that mspaint dialogs where in a foreign language, but worked perfectly fine

However I have rebuilt it using the original Dell CD's and the official Dell Drivers, installed genuine Office products back on it, plus the specialist Wireless Software and tools I use (again all official genuine software)

I have noticed that mspaint is back in a foreign language again, yet absolutly everything else is english

Anyone any ideas

Copy the Mfc42loc.dll file from a computer where it works ok.

I can send one if you want but would need to fire up an old laptop, if you have one more handy, use that.

Sounds like Dells build has been built with language packs something has gone astray somewhere, probably in a service pack or update.

Cheers, will give that a try, we have a few other laptops that I can get the file from

Will let you know if it works

I know I shouldnt really use mspaint, but in my job I need to do quite a bit of copy and pasting images into word docs from another application

If it's a good tool for the job, why not use it? I use Wordpad and Calc over Word and Excel, no shame in that

Well u dont need paint for that anyway Just "print screen" from the app n then paste into Word. If you're using Vista, you can also use the "Snipping tool"
