Virgin TV / Broadband - buy a cable splitter / Y piece ?
Can you buy an adapter / spltter that takes the Virgin cable that sticks out of your wall and splits it into two ? So I can send one to my modem and one to a Virgin TV box ?

thanks Pimmo
you know, I've had some issues with my Virgin cable broadband recently - internmittent slow-down of the internet connection during the evening. So I decided to switch to a cheaper DSL based provider. After trying them for a couple of weeks I've decided to revert back to Virgin. You just can't beat them in my eyes.

I think these splitters are rated in some way so it may depend on the strength of the signal or something. The last VM guy who came gave me a three way splitter and said it would be fine as the signal was so strong....
I think I have some old two way splitters kicking around...

You can get -4db splitters but 2db is nothing. Aslong you make the cables off right (no shorts) the signal will be fine

Pimmo, I've had my motorola surfboard SB5100i for a good 5 years now. Is is compatible with the faster services ? eg. I'm on 10Mbps at the moment, but may upgrade to something faster.

I dont understand what you're asking ? would it be able to move it ??
If you are looking to have 4 connections coming on one coax this splitter would do that, but you would have to make sure you are on a high tap in the cab as splitting on coax 4 ways will drop your power a lot.
