tried to load vista ultimate there, had basic. problem is all the programmes i had are lost, not on pc .... can i get them back, also the back up i had does not work .. on ext drive, what about emails and the like also?

help reqd ...

depends on what type of install you did, if you upgraded there maybe a chance but if it did a format as part of the install your fooked!

 

it was an upgrade, dont know if it formatted anything.

found i can upload my zipped backup ... file by file ... arrrg, hope it has all the info

well, it looks like the programmes are there but under another user name than the one that was created when doing the upgrade. anyone advise on how to get it all back working.
