Hard Disk activity
follwing on from my question a few weeks ago about hard disk activity, I was looking at the resource monitor in vista, and saw that things were constantly being writen to my hard drive. you can see the graph in this picture, and how much activity there is:
Is this about normal, considering at the time I was running MSN and internet explorer. A few of the things seem to be from norton - but what is it actually doing?
System is a Q8200 quad core, 4gb OCZ ram, 500gb sata drive, 4830.
Thanks for any advice, just want to set my mind at rest really.
Scott.

"LocalSystemNetworkRestricted is related to Microsoft Windows Vista.
Manages audio devices for the Windows Audio service. If this service is stopped, audio devices and effects will not function properly. If this service is disabled, any services that explicitly depend on it will fail to start "
are your drivers correct (right device/right version for device and for windows version too) and up to date?

Sort by the "Read" and "write" columns to see what's being written where.
Peaking at 100K/Sec is nothing.
Norton will be scanning files as they are opened by the system, nothing to worry about.
Windows indexer will also be doing in the background as will loads of other bits and pieces.
