Default Any PC experts ?

The kids pc keeps doing a BSOD, KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE ERROR which I beleive could be hard drive related, it mentions ATAPORT.SYS as well.

So, I was thinking I might change the HD for a 1TB one (currently 500 gb), whats the best way to go about this ?

Its on XP, was hoping to just use Ghost or similar to move all the data over or is a clean install the best way ?

Any other thoughts what it may be ?

could be RAM or disk.

get memtest86 and burn it to CD & boot from it.

If disk, then you might as well do a complete reinstall from original media - as existing files could be corrupt.

Just backup your docs etc

also

Error Message with RAM Problems or Damaged Virtual Memory Manager
