So, i rarely use my hotmail address anymore since they changed it so you had to pay if you wanted to use a client like outlook / thunderbird etc. It usually gets handed out to those "iffy" types of sites that look like they might have something i want but are then gonna bombard me with junk for the follwing 6 months. None the less, i do monitor it courtesy of my chat client (linux equivelant of msn) and i generally keep it fairly tidy. To be fair to microsoft, their junk mail filters also tend to be fairly good but this one obviously slipped through their net ....

How dumb are these people really?! We have the obvious french source address displaying that's either a fake reg or is someones jacked account, the "possibly unsafe" warning from the real hotmail, the lack of specific target identification i.e. my email addy or username, the classic murdered english, they've asked for a password despite it being standard practice not to do so, the response addresses are all .com addresses despite my account not working on .com as it's registered to .co.uk and finally, since when have hotmail deleted an account for receiving too much junk mail?! lol!
Am quite tempted to send them a reply ..... or several hundred thousand courtesy of a bulk mailer server my mate has at work
.... see if hotmail shut their account because of too much spam mail eh?!

Odd you should mention about Outlook not working with Hotmail. I seem to have one of the very earliest accounts that actually DOES. I've been using Outlook Express for ages to download my Hotmail emails, and despite the odd email coming through saying they were going stop /charge for it.
'cos I've now got a HTC Touch HD and want to get all my contacts sorted properly, I've installed full blown Outlook and damn me if it doesn't still work!
I'm not complaining though, and I know they stop it as my alternate hotmail account (the newer for all the crud one) gets blocked.
