Dear All

If I copy some text (say from here) then run word 2000, the paste option is not availabe and ctrl-V dosen't work. I have to copy again - then it works

The menus in the start bar (on classic windows settings) and progs like word are condenced with two little down arrows at the bottom to expand the menus. Any way of getting rid of this?

Cheers

David

To copy/paste, I think you need to launch the destination program first.

To get rid of the condensing menus, in MSOffice there is a setting in the Tools/Options Menu, for the rest of WinXP (?), right click the start button,> properties > Customize, then find and clear the setting for 'Scroll Programs'

That should do it.

Thanks Figment

I had 'scroll programs' unchecked anyway - but that pointed me in the right direction - I unchecked all the 'expand' options and hey - my start menu is ala W98.

Still can't find the option in word tho

I think I may know what you mean. Try in Word, Tools / Customise / Options / "Menus show recently used commands first"
