Default Dead Space (Ps3 & Xbox360) - belter!

Just completed it and loved every minute.

Definite rival to the Resident Evil franchise.

I got given the military suit on completion - is that the one you mean ?

Its the first next gen survival game I've seen and the extra horsepower really lends itself to a game like this eg. the dynamic lighting, depth of field effects, not to mention the vast open spaces (hangar bay, centrifuge, etc...)

Loved it, although i used the free suit from XBL that had level 5 or something like that.

also have noticed some extra DLC available with new guns and such, could make the impossible setting a bit easier?

although i traded mine in.

No it began with an O I think (it was black and shiney) it was free for a short whils on PSN I downloaded it and installed it weeks before I bought the game then when I played it - it appeared in the shop once fitted It didnt let me use anyother suit as it was the best (better then level 5)

Know what you mean some effects were great like the zero gravity love how the blood floated about and the lighting was cool

Roll on dead space 2

I thought the start was a bit naff then it really opend up - them massive worm things thet grab you are crazy - some nice gore scenes if it has its way with you lol

What scared me sh1tless at the beginning was realising, they could be standing behind you and not make any noise - I'd just turn around and there'd be this huge thing standing over me, ready to pounce!

I think they did a great job with this game, considering it's their first attempt. Plenty of nods to Resident Evil and Half Life, but it was about time there was some 'new blood' so to speak (!)

I'll definitely buy the next one.

Since Christmas that's Fable II done, Dead Space done and I'm now embarking on Far Cry 2 - which seems a bit slow at the start where I am. Hope it's not a let down.

Looking forward to Knothole Island level coming out soon for Fable II.

I will add it to my list when I am finished Resistance 2. The reviews of Dead Space are very good - nice to read great user feedback.

I bought this when it first came out, completed it, loved it and part-exed it for GOW2 I bought it back on Sunday. £24 from Currys Straight back in to it. I can't get those bloody achievements for shooting down the asteroids though! I JUST about survive that section, no chance of me doing it with 50% remaining!

Just managed to get the two achievements for keeping the Hull Integrity under 50% ('Slugger' and 'Don't Get Cocky Kid') I'd suggest on both just use the one trigger at a time, that way it takes longer for the cannons to overheat making the job easier, now where's that smug smiley gone
Only got three more to get now.

Never played the demo, but you're missing out on a great game.

If you find things are a bit too hectic, you can blast enemies with 'stasis' which temporarily puts them into slow-motion, where you can blast of their legs, then pick off their arms at your leisure as they pull themselves across the floor towards you.

Give it another go Hank. You *know* you want to.
