Vista disk shrinking and partitions question...
In the above disk config I can not shrink the D drive. Is this because of the 2.1gb partition at the end? Is that created by Vista as it wasn't created by me and if I choose to delete it it says that the OS may have created it.
I only want to free up 20gb for a new partition but don't want to format and repartition.

What I don't want to do is stuff up my Vista build as that would be a major ball ache. I've only just looked into the Vista disk config options as can't do that shrink in XP etc.
Could use Acronis etc but again I wanted to do it in Vista as it has the option. I'm assuming then shrink only works if there is no other partition following the partition you are trying to shrink.

It's a media direct partition so setup by Dell. Anyone else deleted it on their Dell? And of course I can't shrink it currently as there are 4 partitions and can't have any more. Could do with getting rid of that and shrinking D by 20gb but think getting rid of Media Direct might be a bad idea.
