Default Macworld 2009 Keynote

It's live and happening right now, check it out here

They'll be focusing on the Mac this time round. Three new things, first is iLife '09, New iPhoto, New organization system named Faces (Wonder if there will be a BA and Murdoch component? ) Organize by people, uses face detection to assist tagging. Hmm, sounds a bit gimmicky, which is something you do expect from Apple.

Boring so far: Tagging photos with place ..... not really something to lead with.

Someone has hacked their connection. I'm sure "SEX ME" isn't part of the report

Yeah, it's 4Chan types that are hacking the feed. Aren't hackers big and clever I thought they'd all be back at school. Ah it's lunchtime in EST, so they have probably just had their heads flushed down the toilet and are being "hard" in revenge by hacking a feed.

Here is another live blog for the Keynote.

New GarageBand, has a feature that will teach you the basics of playing an instrument, uses on screen people to show you, for example Sting and John Fogarty to teach you how to play the Guitar. Now that is rather cool. I've wanted to learn to play the geetar and perhaps this might be a nifty way to do it. Lessons can be purchased for $5.

So the 17" macbook pro has no removable battery.

8 hours nice

but 1000 charges ?

That means if you charge it up once a day then you get around 2 1/2 years before you have to replace it.
If you charge it more than once a day then obviously less.

Odd move

what about this rumour that Apple have been screamed at to drop their prices?

Something to do with the credit crunch......

Swiss, it's 1000 cycles not 1000 times you attach the charger. My Macbook had a battery issue under warranty, other than that I've never bought or changed a laptop battery in over 10 years. I think it's great, eight hours battery use!!

Two choices, take it in for a new battery or get out the screwdriver. Not a lot different to not having a user replaceable hard drive.

As said by others, that's it for the Keynote. However, there could be a "special event" within the next month or so to announce new products, as that is how Apple wants to do things now, and why they've pulled out of Macworld. They've had quite a few special events over the past couple of years, plus there is WWDC where they have announced products.
