I agree re: iPhone 2.

Movie rentals looks good - but just won't work very well in the UK with our crappy broadband speeds

We won't even get it, he said that the movies are US only for the time being. Forever in other words, we have been waiting for movie downloads on iTunes UK for over a year now, nevermind rentals.

Didn't he say international 'later in the year'

I know that doesn't necessarily mean the UK though. Having said that, how long is it going to take to download a DVD movie here - never mind a HD one.

"MacBook Air is 0.16" to 0.76". The thickest part of the MacBook Air is thinner than the thinnest part of the Sony (TZ). It fits inside a envelope"

ha ha, I hope that's not how they're going post them

I'm not at all impressed by the $20 charge for the new iPod Touch stuff. A very, very poor move by Steve there. Unless he mentioned that it's free to people who just got a Touch in the last month, ie; for Christmas. If not then as said, very poor and people will seriously moan about it and I don't blame them. It's a minor dot upgrade release which should carry no charge.

Disappointed there isn't a O/S update to fix bugs in Leopard.

I was wondering if 10.5.2 would be released today, but this does not appear to have happened.

TBH, even though they are touting it as the newest things they are doing right now, I have a sneaking suspicion that this is an interim product and is only showcasing some new features they are doing.

I forecast that this is a forerunner to a new line of products which will be based on a tablet/touchscreen format ....

of course I could be drinking and talking a load of bollocks

Well there hasn't been a seed since the first one on or around 18th December, so either everything works (then why not release?), or there are continued issues that are being worked on with a few people and a new seed is imminent. It would be nice if there was some official developer forum where you could find out what was going on, and discuss issues with other developers, but there does not seem to be and official one

Macbook Air, not sure about it, not to generalize at all, but to me it looks like something our marketing peeps would carry around. To be honest it wouldn't add anything useful to myself.

Shame no MBP update. I was kinda ready to press the order button if they'd have refreshed the Intel chip.

Yes. I have 165mb for the iPod Touch and it is downloading slowly.

The new applications are £12.99 -- I haven't managed to upgrade the Touch and install the new iTunes yet. Then I can install the applications.

Finally finished mine, and it is good: Google maps is great (although I knew that as it is installed on my Blackberry), and the other applications useful.

I understand while people are loathed to pay $20, but I'm getting old and can't be bothered to install all these cracks (I even bought a copy of Vista!).

My thought would be that there's a release of some sort when the Air ships. I'm really just assuming that there are some OS specifics related to that box that need to go out (remote disk for example?) and it makes sense not to have a separate codebase for that laptop alone.
