Just wonder whether its me or not.

I've got medal of honor on high video details, 1024x768 and I get lots of polygon tearing (whether vsync is off or on) eg. the walls of a room, when turning my character around.

Doesn't make any difference dropping down to 800x600 either.

My system is decent: Athlon 1.4, 512MB, GF3 Ti500, SBLive, U160 SCSI, etc..

Anyone else notice this or does the game look perfectly smooth on your systems ?

What, you don't notice ANY polygon tearing ?

I am right to assume the game uses an OpenGL renderer ? (Its is the Quake3 engine isn't it ?)

Think I'll fire up 3DMark from RedOnion or whatever it is and see what I get.

Do you run in 1024x768x32 ?

Hi D,

i've got a geforce 2 GTS, running it in 1024x768@32 (tho notice very little difference between 16 and 32 tbh).

It does use the q3 engine.

but i havent noticed any tearing, i take it you've checked for newer drivers for your card etc?

Yeah, I'm using v23.11 detonator drivers from NVidia.

Is there anyway to show the FPS I'm getting in the game ?

Thumbs up

No problems with mine.

Athlon 1.2Ghz, 256Mb, TNT2 32Mb, XP Pro.

Could use a better graphics card tho

Had loads of problems with the latest detonator drivers, PC kept resetting on me. Went back to the tried and trusted

PT, I think you can enable the console in the game, but I'm not sure what command will shows the FPS, and yes I've tried show_fps and stuff like that.

Will have a look too.

Just whacked my other 256MB DIMM in today (had to get it replaced recently, so I'll see what diff that makes)

May try rolling back to previous detonators, I know Fosters had trouble in that dept, but he's not sure if it was the drivers or not.

hre ya go daz,

to access console you have to to right click on the MoH Icon, then chose Properties, and then add +set ui_console 1 to the command line, or target. It should look something like this (depending on where you installed the game):
C:Program FilesEA GAMESMOHAANetDemoMOHAANetDemo.exe” +set ui_console 1
It is important that the +set ui_console 1 is outside of the “s.

the for frame rate do the following - type FPS 1 in console.

REMINDER: Unlike in other games using the Quake III engine, you don’t type / in front of every command.

cheers pt, you de man!

you can switch the console on in the graphics options and use the tilde ` key to access it.

will give that command a go.

seems since I added the extra memory its improved things - wonder if it uses some kinda swap file. Noticed WinXP is a little memory hungry for games.

Apparently this tearing issue is common and only noticeable on certain levels, usually when turning:
This fix worked for me:

Edit the file in notepad: MOHAA\main\newconfig.cfg Add the line: seta r_swapinterval 1

This worked awesome for me. Even if you don’t have the problem it will not cause any errors. A few more things to keep in mind if you want to make the game look nice:

Daz, the tearing was very noticeable on mine (1.2 T/Bird, G-Force 2 Ultra, Audigy) latest detanator's etc.......however it does seem improved since I patched it to 1.1

Kamikaze, I tried adding that line to the only config file I found in 'main' folder.........does it matter where you put the line i.e. at the top or bottom?........could not see any difference?

Rich.

Rich, sorry I couldn't help but I finished it and ditched it.

Onto Jedi Knight II now, which uses same Q3 engine, but runs beautifully.

Rich just put the line with the other Seta files anywhere in between on its own separate line.
The tearing is only noticeable in certian parts of the game, especially when there are buildings close by. In wide open spaces it looks fine (ie the beach).
I noticed a big differernce at the start of the Battle of the bocage mission at the end of the beach bit. Originally the striped house exteriors looked corrupted badly when turning
It should be preety obvious in this bit if this fix works for you
