Sounds very good for the spec mate but I dont need a new comp and I would think for most peeps spending nearly £3k for a comp is a bit OTT. If someone is after a powerstation like that for graphics work etc then fair enough but most peeps dont even know what SCSI is or would even need dual CPU's.

Too expensive.
I just bought a Mesh R85 with 2.2GHZ P4, 512MB RAM, 80GB primary disk, 40GB secondary disk, 17" LCD flat screen, DVD and CD writers, 64MB NVIDIA Graphics card and Sounblaster Audigy 5.1 sound + mega speakers, 3 years on site service all for £2300 including VAT.
To be honest I think you'd be lucky to get £1200 second hand for that spec.

You need to face facts that most people running Windows applications (or games) will never be able to use the second processor to any real extent, so unless you can sell it to someone with an application written to use the 2nd processor then you are onto a looser from the start.

It's dual CPU and XEON at that which means larger cache etc. Tried advertising in some of the more specialist mags? TBH I don't think your average punter is looking for XEON equiped workstations, (or even knows what it is for that matter ).

HTH

Chucky,
If you'd read all of my posting you would see at the bottom I new it was dual processor.
As I said before, unless someone has an application that will take advantage of the second processor selling it on here, people are going to look at it being as useful as a single processor system.
Yes I know it has SCSI, but again most general PC users would struggle to see much benefit between a SCSI config and a fast EIDE config, unless perhaps they intended to run an Oracle database or something similar.
SD is right, this is not really the place to sell it for him to realise it's value. Best bet would be EBAY or a specialist mag.

Oh and I am not a boy, quite a bit older than you I would expect
:-)

If I am a boy what does that make you, an embryo ?

Red face

Oi Sheepsplitter !

You're talking out of your ar** mate ! I've now got 3 people bidding on this system as we speak. Hmm!! Mesh PCs !! Great quality ....... NOT !!
Face facts ! You can't get much better than a Dell. £1200 ???? I've had offers on this board for £1800 !!
Yet another person with nothing better to do than run other peoples posts down !!................. If you've got nothing good to say ...... SHUT UP !!

Actually MESH have won most of the industry awards for quality and after sales service for a number of years now. FACT!
I've had many Dells in the past, and whilst they are good and pretty reliable Dell Customer Service sucks by comparison to Mesh.

I didn't say you would never get more than £1200, I suggested that to an audience that most likely didn't have a need for one you would be lucky to get >£1200. Clearly there are people on here that can see the benefit of that particular config and you might get nearly what it's worth.
I was not trying to 'run down' your posting, I was suggesting there are better places to advertise than on a Subaru bulettin board.
You do seem quick to point out it's bad to run down peoples posts, but at the same time you are critical of mine, so how does that work ? Pot calling the kettle black me thinks.

Right you lot, no need to chuck your toys of out the pram.

Modrapheniac, I've mentioned about advertising once in the past. A Dual Xeon is a high end business workstation, not something your average home user needs. Hence, IMO this is commercial advertising so please contact webmaster@scoobynet.co.uk if you wish to take out a banner.
