PS3 is a good blueray player and there are some good games out for it and free online play Xbox 360 is just well known as a good fun console. If I had to start now I would go with PS3

If I had to start now it would be the 360 every time. Better selection of games, (many of which can be found cheaper than on the PS3), better online service, better controllers (imo).
I've got all of the current machines (360, PS3, Wii, and a decent spec gaming pc), but the 360 is really the only one I use for gaming these days...
You'll get as many different answers as replies on this one. you get "fanboys" of both camps. Personally I don't care about the platform as long as it's got good games. In this respect, I regret buying the PS3...
got both, but only bought the ps3 (already had and LOVE the 360) for the blue ray facility, and to play my friends online who have a ps3....and thats not actually that many I can count them on one hand, EVERY1 else has the 360
Went for the Xbox 360,it seemed a better deal than the PS3,i got the pro one with PES2009,Project Gotham 4,Call Of Duty(World At War) and 2 controllers for £199.99
