PS3 LAN Party - Not Working
Hi all, please put me out of my misery, it's driving me insane
2x PS3
2x TV's
2x COD4
Wireless connection to Linksys router
About 1Gb broadband
Sort of depends on what PS3 "grabs" the networks first, cos one seems to take the network away from the other, so I go to create a game, then on the other one, when I press "LAN Party", it thinks for a few seconds, then states there is no network connection.
I managed to get it working once yesterday, just thru sheer luck, (30 minutes of turning on/off reloading game etc) Both have good internet connection, both are logged on (actually logged on with the same PSN user.. but I didn't see that as an issue??)
Why won't they share? What am I doing wrong?
TIA.

Just a thought - Log into one of them with a different user account. We have 2 ps3's and use different log in accounts for them and they can both be online at the same time. If they both try to log onto the same user account then one logs itself out automatically (isp conflict).
Never tried a LAN Party as we only have one copy of any game.

Signed in with 2 different accounts... no joy.
Seems the PS3 logged on first takes the network away from the other one and won't share
But at the same time I am typing this on my wireless laptopo on the same connection.
What am i doing wrong?

Looking on the internet, you are not alone!
Some people have reported getting it working by doing it it wirelessly and that you also have to connect to the internet even though you are playing locally only. Seems a bit counter intuitive, but worth a shot?
Geezer

- I have a wireless connection, so I have internet on both PS3's
- I don't have any cables connecting the PS3's or to any router
It's weird, I turned them both on this morning, and the first up and running took the connection away from the other in COD4 (not internet, just the COD4 game) So I get the "You need a network connection to play"...
Then I tried again 5 minutes later and it worked...?
Then I tried again... connection gone
The F%&*ing joy of intermittent problems!!
