Default Having a weird problem with VPN's, what do you think?

Its happening again, I can't create a vpn to works server. I've already complained to my isp twice and it works whilst the trouble ticket is open, then a week later packs up again.

Now the ISP are blaming the kit. I know the lappy aint at fault, as it works from the office and over dial up.

So my options are

ISP (Eclipse) is blocking vpns, yet I can surf the web fine inc p2p apps
The router (I use a linksys WAGS 54GS)
The lappy (can't see it as I know it works)

What do you think the point of failure is?

All comments are appreciated.

your local firewall letting cisco vpn client through ?

Worth checking any firewall on the Linksys and of course Windows firewall or whatever you use on Windows

ISP's reguarly block GRE IP port 45. You should check and see if this is the case. There are some ISP's that consider this a 'business / data' port and stop it.

It's actually one reason why I've stuck with BT - they don't filter any ports

Re-installed Cisco and all working fine. Would appear work pushed out a update of the cisco software when I was off for a week.

Now regressed to 4.01 and works a treat.
