Default Trouble with new dell studio

Hi i have a dell studio which is 3 months old and brought from pc world .Turned it on today and it sounds like a aircraft taking off as the fan which used to kick in to cool it seems to be on all the time. Not sure what pc world will say when i take it back?

as its only 3 months old i have no chance of a replacement then?

oik it open and replace the fan yourself...

its a piece of pish and you might even be able to get a better silent running one.

Thanks for the advice but I’m sure it was only coming on now and again, if it were faulty surly it would stay off?

Fans can be controlled by the motherboard (they get faster as the computer gets hotter). Could be that when the revs get too low, the fan is stopping. Sounds like a new fan is needed to me

Ta but when i turn the laptop on after being off for 12 hrs the fan comes straight on and can feel the air from the vent in the back

just noticed i have lost my soft touch buttons at the top of the keybourd and the keys are playing up as well

Sounds like it might be motherboard fault in that case. Take it back...

Can only answer that one by looking at your documentation. I suspect it will be sent away (if you've had it more than 30 days), but I may be wrong. I'd be demanding a new one out of principal (you don't get if you don't ask)...

update i took it to pc world there so called expert said i had to reload it to the default setting meaning i had to loose everything on my pc.I did this and was the same so i phoned dell up and was put through to someone from india he told me to take the battery out and press the on button for 30 sec. Turns out to be a build up of static and now the laptop works as it should. Just means i have to spend the evening reloading everything. PC world are wa"""rs
