Default Can't seem to log onto the internet with one user on the PC but can with the other?

On my work PC we have 2 user profiles TIM & DAN. Whilst I was browsing the internet the other week I decided to do a virus scan. It removed a trojan virus I think it was called and then I wasn't able to get back online it said on Mozilla - Proxy Server refused connection, Internet Explorer just gave an error message.

I noticed that an update or something was still downloading so could see I had an internet connection still. I logged off and logged onto Dans profile and can access the internet from there.

Any ideas how I can get the internet running again on my profile?

Many thanks

Tim

Go to tools, options, network, connection settings, click "no proxy", that should sort it..

Else

You may have a setting in the file user.js in the profile folder that causes Firefox to 'timeout'. So read tthis

Hi Dedrater, tried doing what you said but I can't seem to find the "no proxy" button under any network settings.

Any ideas? I'm using XP.

I have just read your first post again and see that you also tried Explorer, so the issue might be with a Firewall you are running? Have you got any Antivirus software installed?
